'08-'09 Section Chief: Jimmy

Jimmy is an Eagle Scout from Troop 538 in Durango, Colorado. He is a Vigil Honor Member and Founder's Award Recipient from Yah-Tah-Hey-Si-Kess Lodge. Currently, he is a member of Kola Lodge while attending the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Jimmy has served his past Lodge in many aspects, including: Ute Chapter Chief for the years of 2005 and 2007, Lodge Vice Chief of Operations for part of 2006, Lodge Chief for the majority of 2006, Lodge Vice Chief of Administration for 2007, and Chairmen of Indian Affairs for part of 2008. Jimmy served Section W-5A, now W-6E, as the 2006 and 2007 Shows CVC and as Section Secretary for 2007-2008. He was on staff at Chimayo Scout Reservation, now Gorham Scout Ranch, from 2004-2007 in many positions including the first ever Mountain Bike Director in 2006 and as Scoutcraft Director in 2007. Some of his most fond scouting experiences include being a Patrol Counselor for Brownsea 22, a leadership development camp for new Scouts, from 2004 to 2007. He participated in Order of the Arrow Trail Crew at Philmont in 2006 and was on the Instructor Corps for Arrowcorps 5 in 2008, attending all five sites. Jimmy attended NLS and NOAC in 2006. Most recently, he laid the foundation for Uncas University, along with it's three College's of emphasis, while serving as Section W-5's first Training CVC. Jimmy is a Social Sciences Major with an Emphasis in Secondary Education, the House Manager for Theta Omicron Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and spends his time in the outdoors, playing music, and chasing women.

'08-'09 Section Vice-Chief: Paul

Paul got his eagle scout in troop 166 of Longmont, Colorado. He is also a vigil honor member. Paul has served his local chapter and lodge, and had been the training CVC. Paul has been to OA wilderness voyage in 2006, and served as staff at the shasta-trinity AC5 site. Paul spends his free time reading, messing around on the computer, and camping.

I have been in Scouts for 50 years, starting with Cub Scouts for 3 years and then 7 years in Boy Scouts and as an adult leader ever since. I was inducted into the OA by Kola Lodge in 1966 and took my Brotherhood a year later As a youth, I held every office in my Scout Troop and was Chapter Chief for Kola Lodge, Sisseton Chapter for 3 years. I enlisted in the US Navy and served for 10 ½ years. I married a wonderful lady in 1972 and we have 2 boys. Both are Eagle Scouts and Vigil Honor members. Since leaving the Navy, I have held various positions in Scouts as a Webelos Den Leader, Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chair. In OA, I have been Chapter Adviser, Lodge Ceremonies Adviser, Lodge Administration and Membership Adviser, Lodge Adviser, and currently Section W5 adviser. In 1988 I attended Wood Badge, served on Staff for NOAC and received the Vigil Honor. I have been bestowed the Scouter's Training Award, Scouters Key, District Award of Merit, Scoutmaster Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, James E. West and Founder's Award. I was the Second Assistant Scoutmaster for the 1993 National Jamboree and Scoutmaster for the 1997 National Jamboree. I was the Kola Lodge Contingent adviser for the 92, 94, 96 and 98 NOACs, attended the NLS and NLATS courses, attended the NCLS in 2007 and attended on staff at the Manti La Sal AC5 site in 2008.

Associate Section Advisor: Ray

ray.jpg I have been in Scouting since the age of 7, starting with Cub Scouts for 3 years and then 8 years in Boy Scouts, Explorer and as an adult leader ever since. I have been a scout in 2 different counties not including the United States. I was called-out in the Manatoanna Lodge and inducted into the OA by Black Eagle Lodge in 1976 and took my Brotherhood a year later as a youth, I held almost all office's in my Scout Troop's and was Clan/Chapter Chief for Black Eagle Lodge, Also had been a member of Tatokainyanka Lodge before I moved to Kola Lodge in 1984. I have held various positions in Scouts as a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Associate Crew Adviser, District Camping Chairman, Council Camping committee, Council Venturing Committee and Assistant District Commissioner. In OA, I have been Chapter Adviser, Lodge Associate Adviser for Finance and currently Section W5 Associate Section Adviser. Served as Kola Lodge Co-Adviser for the first ever OA Philmont Trek Contingent Leader. In 1986 I received the Vigil Honor and Adviser of the Year for Kola Lodge and served as the contingent leader to the NOAC in Michigan. In 1988 served on staff for NOAC. I have been bestowed the Scouter's Training Award for Venturing and Boy Scout leader, Scouter's Key for Scoutmaster and District Committee, District Award of Merit, Scoutmaster Award of Merit, Venturing Leadership Award, Bronze Pelican Award, Silver Beaver Award. Have served on the 1989 & 1993 National Jamboree Staff. I was the Kola Lodge Contingent adviser for the 86, 90 NOAC Contingents. And attended the 79, 81, 92, 94, 96 Noacs. i have attended the NLAT and NLS courses. In 2008 attended the Manti La Sal AC5 site on staff.

Associate Section Advisor: Joan

joan1.jpg I have been in Scouts for 20 years, starting with my son in Cub Scouts for 2 years and then 18 years in Boy Scouts. Vigil honor; currently the Wood Badge Coordinator for Rocky Mountain Council; currently an Executive Board Committee member. Over the past 20 years I have held several positions in the District and Council: Wood Badge Course Director in 2006, positions in Pack and Troop 10, Chapter Adviser and Lodge Adviser for Tupwee, Crew 64 Advisor, Unit Commissioner, Roundtable Commissioner, Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner, District Camping Chair, Leader for NOAC contingents, Jamboree 1st Assistant Scoutmaster, Chair for District Camporees and Council Camporalls, Tupwee Lodge Vigil Adviser, AC5 Division Leader. I have been bestowed the Founder's Award, District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver. I will be on NOAC staff in 2009 and will be on staff for Jamboree 2010 as one of the Subcamp 9 Commissioners.
